Top 10 Ways to Get Your Disney Fix

As any Disney enthusiast will tell you, going through Disney withdrawals between visits is a very real thing. Very. Real :|

But whether it's due to a global pandemic or normal circumstances, there ARE some ways you can get your Disney 'fix' when you can't actually be adventuring up and down Main Street, U.S.A.

Here are 10 ways we've found help lessen our Disney withdrawals (#'s 9 & 10 are as close to the real thing as you'll get!):

HOLD A DISNEY MOVIE THEME NIGHT

More than just watching your family's favorite Disney movie, turn it into a theme night with a special dinner, snacks, and activities. For example, instead of just watching Toy Story, start the night with a special Toy Story-inspired dinner, treats, games, trivia, activities, and more.

VISIT THE LOCAL DISNEY STORE

Find the nearest Disney store and make it an afternoon. Did you know that many Disney store locations hold special daily activities and other holiday events like Easter egg hunts? Call before you go to find out what activities are going on at your local store and when.

LISTEN TO DISNEY PARK MUSIC LOOPS

There's no easier way to feel like you're making your way around the parks than by listening to Disney parks songs, music loops, and other ambient soundtracks! You can find some great playlists on YouTube as well as on online radio stations like WDWNTunes.

PLAN YOUR NEXT VISIT

You might not be able to go to the parks right NOW, but that doesn't mean you can't still experience some of the magic of being there! One of the best parts about traveling to Disney is in the planning and prep before you leave. And Disney makes that really easy with a great collection of online planning videos. Do you want to go on a tour? Which resort do you want to stay in? Do you feel like starting your day on Space Mountain or Peter Pan? Get your Disney fix by having fun planning it all out today!

ORGANIZE A PIN TRADING EVENT

One of our favorite activities at the Disney Parks is the fun in pin trading! From meeting new friends to the satisfaction in completing a set, it's a unique way to create new memories and come away with some great souvenirs. And one of the best parts about pin trading is that it isn't limited to just the parks. Organize a local pin trading event to share in some Disney magic with your nearest Disney friends!

LISTEN TO DISNEY PODCASTS

Podcasts are an easy and fun way to stay informed and learn about insider tips and tricks at the Disney parks. Listen in on other Disney fans as they share their unique perspectives, share news about past and upcoming events, teach about park history, share planning secrets, and so much more. It's especially fun to join podcast social media groups and become part of the online community there. Some of our favorite podcasts are team Mousetalgia, the Disneyland pros, and Lou Mongello with WDW Radio, the award-winning Disney World show. The hours will seriously fly by as you listen!

MAKE YOUR FAVORITE PARK TREATS

Churros, beignets, Dole Whips, and popcorn... oh the popcorn! It's no secret how much we LOVE the treats at the Disney parks! And while there's nothing quite like being in the park munching on your favorite snacks, there are some that are surprisingly easy to recreate right in the convenience of your own kitchen. So get your Disney fix by grabbing some ingredients, rolling up your sleeves, and bringing all that Disney goodness to your home.

BUILD DISNEY LEGO SETS

While you may not be able to walk around Cinderella's Castle or ride on the Disneyland Railroad right now, you CAN still bring Mickey and friends to life by recreating the attractions LEGO style! In addition to the castle and train you can also get your Disney fix with other sets like Steamboat Willie, the Frozen sets, Toy Story sets, and MORE. Get your build on!

PLAY DISNEYLAND ADVENTURES THE GAME

If you want a seriously real way to 'experience' Disneyland's Magic Kingdom, you MUST play Disneyland Adventures on XBOX One! The excellent graphics will have you exploring Magic Kingdom for countless hours of challenges, games, and some serious fun!

The entry to Sleeping Beauty Castle is a more a movie set piece than a replica of a castle. The set is wide but not deep. When you climb the stairs on the Sleeping Beauty Walk-Through, you can touch the front wall of the building with your right hand's fingers and touch the back wall with your left hand's fingers.

You missed the greatest secret of the bricks on Main Street. In the examples by the drinking fountain, there are no actual bricks. They all and the other bricks on Main Street Buildings are all sculpted plaster to create faux bricks. In the "Disneylands Final Report" that was broadcast shortly before the Park opened in 1955, they talked about laying bricks "from the top down." The stones on Sleeping Beauty Castle are also sculpted and use smaller stones as they are higher up on the walls to created forced perspective and make the castle look taller than it is.
